arts and athletics

Sam likes to throw things. He loves basketball and baseball. He loves throwing rocks. He likes throwing the fallen leaves. We spend several hours each day honing these athletic skills. Sam also likes to throw everything else especially his dinner (and lunch and breakfast and snacks and everything that goes along with these meals) I've tried everything I can think of to break him of this wonderful habit, but nothing is working yet. Anyone have any good ideas?

Today, Sam decided he no longer wanted his yogurt and threw it across the room. He spent a few minutes in timeout while I cleaned up the floor and walls. I must have missed a spot, because awhile later I heard him singing the alphabet song and drawing on the window. Here is his finger paint (or rather yogurt) art. Now I am all for encouraging creativity through art, but I would prefer other mediums at the moment.

No tips from me though, he is too cute to discipline ;-)

Oh my goodness, that is so funny! His eyes are just precious in that picture. Did that puppy dog look help him when you figured out what he was doing?

He is SO cute! I love the yogurt finger painting :) I wish I had advice for you. I'm the mom who makes my kids bite soap when they bite each other and wear gloves for 5 minutes when they have hit each other. I like punishments that fit the crime :) So for throwing??? Hmm....

He remains the most beautiful (or I guess I should say handsome) little boy ever! We miss you guys! As for the throwing, just hang in there. My boys are the same way - they LOVE throwing things - and for a long time that meant throwing EVERYTHING. But they do grow up, and now the dinner remains on the plate (notice I didn't say it was going into them...we're still working on that) and balls are usually thrown outdoors.

No suggestions from me, sorry! I have not been lucky enough to experience this yet, but I'm sure it's just around the corner! Good thing he's so stinkin' cute huh?

Tanoshii!
It reminds of the story one day Jeff and Mom came and we ate Lobster, Jeff cracked lobster so explosively 6 months later we found lobster shell behind our CPU table!

Some links that might help??
